HomeComp Microcomputers
A downloadable project
HomeComp is an alternate-history British microcomputer project, beginning with the fictional HC-77B, a front-panel MOS 6502 machine launched in September 1977.
The project combines emulator releases, period-style documentation, ROMs, cassette images, expansion hardware, software, adverts, and company lore to build a complete “what if?” retrocomputing ecosystem.
The first public release focuses on HomeComp Ecosystem Era 1, starting with the HC-77B launch system.
Current Release
The September 1977 launch package includes:
- HC-77B emulator builds
- HC-77B boot/monitor ROM
- user and technical documentation
The HC-77B begins as a serious single-board 6502 microcomputer for hobbyists, developers, training, control, and laboratory use. Later release phases will expand the ecosystem with software, cassette releases, peripherals, and further HomeComp history.
Project Notes
HomeComp is not an open-source project. Public releases are made available in the public domain as giftware: they may be downloaded, used, copied, shared, and archived freely.
Donations are optional and appreciated, but payment is not required.
